POSTGAME QUOTES
College of Charleston Head Coach Earl Grant
On the game …
"We got tested tonight. They (Memphis) are very athletic and big. They returned four of their top players from last year, so we knew it would be a challenge. They like to get up-and-down and play fast. I was really worried in the first half when I saw 40 points on the scoreboard. That's too much to give up in a half. They were on an 85-point pace, but our guys just settled down, came out in the second half and made the right plays to get us over the hump."
Â
On what a big win over a good program like Memphis can do for Charleston Basketball …
"We had a tough schedule and we designed it that way. We played LSU, Oklahoma State, Rhode Island, UAB and Memphis tonight. We still have a lot of work to do. It shows our players that we are capable. If we can continue to work hard and stay true to the process, this team has the chance to be really good."
Â
On the play of Brevin Galloway …
"Brevin is a big-time shooter. He's always been that way. He has no conscious. He just believes that he can make them (big three-pointers). He's always been that way. Certainly, we needed them tonight. He had three big threes at the end of the first half to cut the (Memphis) lead from eight to two. He really helped us and it was good to see him make big shots like that tonight."
