Cougars And Bobcats Set For Midweek Showdown

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team (RV, NCBWA Division I Poll) welcomes Quinnipiac to Patriots Point for a two-game series on Tuesday and Wednesday, as the Cougars look to build on their 13-3 start to the season. First pitch is set for 6:00 pm on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Series Preview
The Cougars and Bobcats meet for the second time on Tuesday in the first of a two-game set. Charleston won the only other previous meeting between the two schools by a 30-10 margin at Patriots Point on March 10, 2009.
Last Time Out
The Cougars secured their third series sweep of the season, and fourth series win to push their overall record to 13-3. CofC outscored the Roadrunners, 30-5, in the series as 12 different players drove in at least one run.

In Saturday's 7-3 win on Saturday, Charleston passed a significant milestone as a program with its 900th all-time victory. After Sunday's 10-1 win over CSU Bakersfield, the Cougars own a 901-614-4 all-time record in 28 years as a program.
A Bat Awakens
Logan McRae's bat awoke in a big way over the weekend, as the redshirt junior went 7-for-14 with three doubles, a home run, three RBIs, and a 1.182 slugging percentage. He capped the weekend with a 4-for-5 effort on Sunday, falling a triple shy of the cycle in a performance that included a two-run home run.
Surging Cougars
The Cougars surged through the NCAA RPI rankings this week, jumping 44 spots to No. 27 after sweeping CSU Bakersfield. Six of CofC's 2018 opponents rank amongst the top 100, including Northeastern (4), East Carolina (45), Coastal Carolina (46), Kansas State (51), Georgia (56), and James Madison (72).
Scouting Quinnipiac
Quinnipiac enters the week with a 6-6 record after taking two of three from Old Dominion this past weekend. The Bobcats are batting .273 as a team with nine home runs, while allowing 5.42 runs per game.
Brian Moskey leads the Bobcats with two home runs, 12 RBIs, and a .370 batting average. Tyler Poulin paces the pitching staff with a 2-2 record and a 1.77 ERA in 20.1 innings of work.
