Cougars Set To Square Off Bucs, Paladins In Midweek Action

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team embarks on its first split midweek swing of the season this week, when the Cougars travel to Charleston Southern on Tuesday, and Furman on Wednesday before Colonial Athletic Association play begins this coming weekend. First pitch on Tuesday is scheduled for 6:00 pm, with a 4:00 pm start slated for Wednesday.

Evan Sisk delivered a dominating performance on Friday to set the tone for the Cougars with his first collegiate complete game. The junior left-hander scattered five hits and struck out four in nine shutout innings to run his record to 4-1 for the season, and lower his ERA to 2.32. For his efforts, Sisk garnered CAA Pitcher of the Week accolades for the third time in his career.
On-Base Machine
Dupree Hart has reached base in each of the Cougars' last 37 games dating back to April of last season. He has hit safely in all but two games this season, and leads the Cougars in batting average (.346) and on-base percentage (.435).
Surging Cougars
The Cougars enter the week 43rd in the NCAA RPI rankings - up from 82nd prior to the Kansas State series. Eight of CofC's 2018 opponents rank amongst the top 100, including Northeastern (2), Georgia (22), East Carolina (27), Coastal Carolina (30), Quinnipiac (44), Kansas State (60), UNCW (76), and James Madison (86).
Scouting Charleston Southern
Charleston Southern enters the week with a 6-15 record following a weekend sweep at the hands of Campbell. The Bucs are hitting .220 this season - led by Josh Litchfield with a .288 clip.
