Cougars Look To Snap Skid In Midweek Matinee With Eagles

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team will look to snap a five-game skid on Tuesday afternoon in a midweek matchup to wrap up the season series with Georgia Southern. Justin Baker (Huntersville, N.C.) will make his first collegiate start for the Cougars opposite Eagle sophomore Braxton Johns. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 pm.

The Cougars come into the week leading the CAA in nearly every offensive category, batting .281 as a team with 217 runs scored, 68 doubles, 39 home runs, and 55 stolen bases, while combining for a .429 slugging percentage. CofC also leads the CAA with a 2.92 team ERA, and has allowed the least number of home runs (13).
Scouting Georgia Southern
Georgia Southern enters the week with a 19-20 overall record after taking two-of-three from UT Arlington over the weekend. The Eagles are batting .231 as a team with 16 home runs this season.
Mason McWhorter leads the team with 12 doubles, six home runs and 28 RBIs while batting .259. Braxton Johns will make his second start of the season for the Eagles on Tuesday, with a 3-2 record and a 5.34 ERA in 18 appearances - including 17 out of the bullpen.
