CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team will look to rebound from a pair of tough midweek losses when the Cougars host longtime rival Elon to open Colonial Athletic Association play this weekend. First pitch on Friday is set for 6:00 p.m., with junior Griffin McLarty (Buckner, Ky.) taking the ball opposite Elon junior Kyle Brnovich.

Series Preview
The Cougars and Phoenix meet for the 55th time on Friday as the long-time rivals open the CAA schedule with a three-game series at Patriots Point.

Scouting Elon
Elon enters the weekend with an 11-10 overall record following a pair of midweek setbacks to Maryland. The Phoenix have struck out 207 batters in 195 innings as a team, but have also surrendered more than five walks per nine innings thus far.

Joe Satterfield leasd the Phoenix with six doubles and a .403 batting average, while Adam Spurlin has clubbed a team-high three home runs. Ty Adcock has driven in 18 runs. Saturday starter George Kirby carries a 3-0 record with a 3.26 ERA, 41 strikeouts, and only one walk in 30.1 innings.

Series History
Charleston leads the all-time series with Elon, 32-22. The Phoenix have won three of the last five but only four of the last 10 against the Cougars. Elon won three of four meetings last season, including a 3-2 extra-inning victory in the CAA Tournament.

The trio of Dupree Hart, Logan McRae, and Danny Wondrack have been nothing short of superb against the Cougars' most challenging opponents this season, combining for three home runs, 22 RBI, a .381 batting average, and a .552 slugging percentage in CofC's nine games against UConn, Coastal Carolina, Arizona, and Clemson.

Stealing Your Hart
Dupree Hart is on pace to establish new standards on the base paths for the Cougars this season, entering the weekend ranked ninth in the nation with 16 stolen bases. The senior speedster is closing in on the program's top-10 list, and has already set a new career-high with 16 swipes this season.

Charleston reached a enviable program milestone in thrilling fashion on February 27, marking its 600th home victory with an 8-5 win over No. 19 Coastal Carolina. The Cougars are currently standing on 605 home wins in the program's history.

Doubles Maestro
Senior Logan McRae leads the Cougars with 11 doubles this season - already four short of tying his career-high - to enter the weekend ranked fifth in the nation in two-baggers. The Florence, S.C. native now stands at 43 doubles for his career, which is two shy of the program's all-time top 10.
