CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's tennis program celebrates its senior class on Saturday morning with a 10 a.m. matchup against Charlotte at Patriots Point.
Laura Arciniegas, Christi Woodson, Turner Yates and Sarah Zschunke are part of a senior class that have amassed 95 singles victories and 93 doubles victories from 2015-19 and will compete one last time in the lowcountry against the 49ers, who The College hold an 11-3 advantage over historically.
Scouting Charlotte
The 49ers are 16-6 on the year, a perfect 8-0 at home, winning eight straight matchups heading into this weekend. Charlotte are more even on the road with a 6-5 record, Charleston looking to the 49ers 5-2 loss to James Madison as a line of form with the Cougars falling to the Dukes in a tight 4-3 decision last weekend. Charlotte are 1-4 against The College over the last five matchups and trail to Charleston 3-11 all-time in the series, the lone victories for the 49ers coming in 2004, 2005 and 2016.

The Long Home Stand
Charleston went 7-2 between Mar. 6-17, facing nine teams in 11 days as preparation for the Colonial Athletic Association Championship held Apr. 17-20 in Elon, N.C. The long home stand began with four straight wins over Davidson, Coastal Carolina, Lehigh and Gardner-Webb, the Cougars falling to Richmond and UMASS before bouncing back with three more victories. Charleston took down Samford, George Washington and Fairfield to improve to 10-7 on the year heading into the back-end of the 2019 schedule.
