CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team returns to Patriots Point for its final home series of the season and will take on Towson in a crucial Colonial Athletic Association set for both clubs. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., with junior Griffin McLarty (Buckner, Ky.) taking the ball for the Cougars opposite Towson sophomore Josh Seils.

The Cougars and Tigers meet for the 20th time on Friday when the two CAA foes open a critical series in conference play. Charleston enters the weekend in second in the CAA standings, while Towson sits ninth two games out of sixth.
Scouting Towson
Towson comes into the weekend with a 13-34 overall record and a 6-12 mark in CAA play following a sweep at the hands of James Madison. The Tigers are batting .232 as a team with 21 home runs and 76 doubles.
Brad Powers leads the Tigers with five home runs and a .277 batting average, while Zach Piazza has driven in a team-high 27 runs. Javon Fields paces the team with 15 stolen bases and 27 runs scored. Saturday starter Gavin Weyman carries a 3-7 record despite a team-best 3.17 ERA in 11 starts.

The Cougars bounced back with a 9-2 victory over Charleston Southern on Tuesday to win the season series. Ari Sechopoulos paced the offense with two doubles and a solo homer in a 4-for-5 effort and Tradd James tossed three scoreless innings to earn the win.

Junior Ari Sechopoulos made easy work of the Bucs' pitching staff on Tuesday, collecting a career-high four hits with two doubles and a solo home run to pace the offense.
Closing Stretch
The run up to the 2019 CAA Tournament has officially begun with only two weekends remaining in the regular season. Charleston currently occupies the No. 2 spot in the league standings and holds a one-game lead over James Madison. The Cougars will face last-place Towson this weekend and travel to seventh-place Delaware next weekend.
Shutout James
Junior Tradd James picked up his second career win with a superb outing on Tuesday evening, spinning three scoreless frames and striking out three at Charleston Southern. The Sumter, S.C. native allowed three hits and one walk to lower his ERA to 2.34.
Two Outs? No Problem!
The Cougars have been terrific with two outs over the last 10 games, collecting 29 hits and accounting for 24 of their 46 total RBI's in that span with two down. Chaz Davey leads the team with seven two-out RBI's in that span with Dupree Hart close behind with six.

Eleven seniors will take the field for their final three-game series at Patriots Point this weekend.
