CHARLESTON, S.C. – Taylor Williams scored 20 points, two off her career high, and Arynn Eady tallied 16 points to go along with 17 rebounds, one shy of her career best, leading College of Charleston to a 109-69 romp over NC Wesleyan on Friday at TD Arena.

The 109 points set a school Division I era record and marked only the second time the Cougars (3-2) have reached the century mark as a DI program. The 40-point margin is the largest since a 68-24 win over UNCG on March 3, 2016.

Tyler Gray added 16 points and six assists, Madison Taylor and Anika McGarity both had 11 points and Amira Williams, making her first career start, scored 10. Gray matched her season scoring high while McGarity and Williams both had the top point totals to date in their freshman seasons.

The long ball was again featured in the CofC attack as the Cougars drained 13 of 29 from beyond the arc, led by Taylor Williams with four in five attempts as the sophomore fell just short of the 22 points she scored against Northeastern on March 1, 2020. The 13 3-pointers are tied for the third most in a game in school history, and the Cougars are 36 of 85 (.424) over their last three games.

CofC has made 12 or more 3-pointers nine times in its history, with five coming in the past two seasons.

The CofC defense forced 30 Battling Bishop turnovers and made 15 steals, including a career-high five by Tyler Collins, who also grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists to inch her within 18 of moving into the Top 10 in school history.

The Cougars complete the non-conference portion of their schedule on December 19 with a game at NC Central. CofC returns to TD Arena on January 2 and 3 with a pair of games against Delaware to open CAA play.
