CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston makes the longest trip in school history when the Cougars meet No. 16 Oregon on Sunday at Matthew Knight Arena. Tipoff is 3 p.m. Eastern time.
The 2,914 miles the Cougars will journey to Eugene edges out a 2,472-mile trek to Boise, Idaho in 2015. The game is the first for Charleston against a nationally-ranked team since losing at No. 1 South Carolina in the 2020-21 opener.
The game wraps up the non-conference portion of Charleston's schedule. Their next game at Towson on December 29 opens CAA play.
The Cougars had their four-game winning streak come to an end with an 83-65 loss at Georgia Southern on Friday. Jaila Roberts scored 20 points and Alexis Andrews added 16 while Nicole Hemphill, making her first start of the season, had nine points and a career-high 10 rebounds.
Jada Logan was limited to six points but still stands third in the CAA in scoring with 18.2 ppg. She also ranks ninth in the conference with 7.2 rpg and 10th with 3.1 apg and is the only player in the top 10 in all three categories.
The Ducks are 8-1 and 10th in the nation in both points per game (84.1) and scoring margin (26.0). Oregon features a balanced attack with six players averaging at least 7.2 point per game, led by Endyia Rogers (14.3) and Grace VanSlooten (14.2). Phillipina Kyei is 12th in the country with 11.0 rpg.
