
Cougars Begin Four-Game Road Trip at James Madison on Friday

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston women's basketball team (13-10, 5-7) begins a lengthy road trip, featuring four games in nine days, on Friday as the Cougars travel to Harrisonburg, Va. to take on James Madison. Tip-off is set for noon and the game will be streamed live on FloSports.

- The College of Charleston Cougars enter Friday's action following a heartbreaking overtime loss to Elon inside TD Arena. Charleston finishes 0-2 against the Phoenix this season, with both losses coming by five points
- Charleston had a chance to break a lengthy losing streak to the Phoenix, but was unable to overcome a 32-7 difference in free throw attempts
- One of the most consistent players in the CAA this season has been Charleston senior forward Arynn Eady. In CofC's two games last week, Eady averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 3.5 steals while shooting 14-24 from the field and 8-9 from the foul line
- Arynn put up 20 points, eight rebounds, five steals and two blocks in a 61-59 win over William & Mary before registering her tenth double-double of the season with a 16 point, 12 rebound performance. Eady also blocked six shots - her most in a CAA game this year - and swiped two steals
- Turnovers forced and three-point shooting has proven to be a major indicator for success for this year's Cougars. The Cougars are 7-2 when shooting more than 30 percent from beyond-the-arc. When CofC shoots less than 30 percent, it is 5-8
- Charleston is 12-6 this season when it forces its opponent into more than 15 turnovers. When Charleston's opponent keeps its turnovers underneath that threshold of 15, the Cougars are just 1-4
- At the foul line, CofC continues to be rock solid. The Cougars shot 17-of-21 (80.9 percent) from the foul line over the weekend. This performance brings the team's free throw percentage to 73.9 percent, good for third in the CAA and 82nd in the NCAA
- Jenna Annecchiarico's 85.6 percent mark from the free throw line is the CAA's best and 37th nationally
- CofC point guard Jenna Annecchiarico and forward Arynn Eady have placed themselves squarely in the conversation for the All-CAA first-team. Annecchiarico leads the CAA in assists per game (6.0), free throw percentage (85.6%), steals (71)
- Eady tops the conference in blocks per game (2.3) and field goal percentage (62.2%), ranks second in rebounds (215) and third in steals (51)
- On January 26th at Northeastern, Jenna Annecchiarico surpassed the 1,000 career points mark. Next to achieve the milestone is senior guard Tyler Collins, who sits at 985 points for her career. Collins is averaging 9.0 points per game as a senior this season
- James Madison owns a record of 11-12 this season following a 64-61 loss at Drexel on Wednesday
- The Dukes are just 6-5 at home this season
- JMU is led by Kiki Jefferson, a 6'1" junior guard averaging 18.7 points per game this season. Jefferson is also the team's second-leading rebounder at 7.2 boards per contest
- JMU has controlled the all-time series, holding a 17-2 lead in the series
