Charleston Welcomes Riverhawks for Three-Game Set

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team will look to bounce back from a midweek sweep at the hands of Penn on Friday afternoon when the Cougars open a three-game series with UMass Lowell. First pitch for Friday's game one is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at Patriots Point.
Charleston has its sights set on snapping a five-game skid that has seen the Cougars fall to 7-6 on the season. The Riverhawks enter the weekend with a 3-8 overall record following back-to-back setbacks to Duke on Tuesday and Wednesday.

- Junior Trotter Harlan enters the weekend tied for the national lead with 17 walks and has reached base safely in 24 of the last 25 games dating back to last season.
- Charleston's pitching staff comes into the series leading the CAA in ERA (3.07), hits allowed per nine innings (7.11) and WHIP (1.15).
- The Cougars have been terrors on the base paths so far this season entering the weekend ranked 12th in the nation with 30 stolen bases - good for second in the league.
- Sophomore Luke Vaks shined in his first appearance as a Cougar on Wednesday, needing only seven pitches in a perfect eighth with one strikeout.
- Senior infielder Cam Dean has made the most of his opportunities in the lineup thus far entering the weekend leading the team with eight RBI including six with two outs. The Surfside Beach, S.C. native has accounted for six of his eight RBI with a trio of two-run singles and is 5-for-11 this season with runners in scoring position so far.
