CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team will look to build on the momentum from Tuesday's win over No. 2 Texas when the Cougars welcome perennial regional participant East Carolina to the Lowcountry to conclude their nine-game home stand. First pitch for Friday's series opener is slated for 4:00 p.m. at Patriots Point.
Charleston delivered its marquee win to this point of the season on Tuesday with an 8-4 victory over the second-ranked Longhorns. East Carolina has won three of its last five and dropped a narrow 9-8 decision at No. 21 Old Dominion on Tuesday.

LEADING OFF
- Tuesday was a night these Cougars - and the program - will remember for a long time after CofC knocked off No. 2 Texas, 8-4. It was the Cougars' third-ever win over a Top-two team and the second-largest margin of victory against a Top-10 opponent in school history.
- William Privette, Reed Parris and Luke Vaks have emerged as the backbone of the Cougars' bullpen thus far combining for 46 strikeouts and only three earned runs in 35 and one-third innings over a combined 15 appearances.
- The Cougars are 8-0 this season when scoring in the first inning and have outscored their opponents by a 21-3 margin in the opening frame.
- Junior JT Marr set the tone with a first-inning grand slam against Texas on Tuesday - the Cougars' first grand slam of the season after hitting a program-record eight last spring.
- Friday starter Ty Good utilized his bullpen day in unconventional fashion on Tuesday, pitching the seventh inning against the Longhorns and striking out the side.
- Junior Donald Hansis put an exclamation point on a five-run first inning for the Cougars on Tuesday night against Texas, launching a solo homer for his second long ball in the last three games. Hansis is the Cougars' active career leader with 11 homers in his three-year tenure at The College.
SCOUTING THE PIRATES
- The Pirates come into the weekend with a 9-8 overall record after falling to No. 21 Old Dominion, 9-8, on Tuesday. East Carolina took two of three from Saint Mary's last weekend.
- ECU ranks fourth in the nation with 15 sacrifice bunts and 13th in sac flies (12) while also ranking 21st with a .982 fielding percentage.
- Jacob Jenkins-Cowart paces the Pirates with a .408 batting average while Alec Makarewicz leads the team with three home runs and 16 RBI.
- Friday starter Jake Kuchmaner is 1-1 on the season with a 2.75 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 19.2 innings of work.
- Garrett Saylor ranks 21st in the nation in strikeouts per nine innings (14.68) with 31 K's in only 19 innings pitched.
Parking Information
Fans are encouraged to take notice of the following parking information for this weekend's series with East Carolina. In light of Mount Pleasant Soccer hosting a three-day tournament Friday through Sunday, as well as the Cougars' softball program also hosting East Carolina on Saturday and Sunday, parking availability will be at a premium for all three games of this weekend's series. There is no charge to park in either the surface or grass lots however spots will fill up fast.
