
Charleston Set to Host CofC Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston volleyball team returns home to the friendly confines of TD Arena this weekend to host its second and final tournament of the campaign. Charleston welcomes Coastal Carolina, Incarnate Word and Wofford to the Lowcountry on Friday and Saturday for the CofC Invitational.
The Cougars will take on Incarnate Word on Friday at 7:00 pm followed by matchups with Wofford and Coastal Carolina on Saturday at 12:00 pm and 7:00 pm, respectively. Charleston is looking to snap a four-match skid after falling to Texas Tech, Georgia and Charlotte at Georgia's Bulldog Classic last weekend.

QUICK HITTERS
- The Cougars will look to snap a four-match skid on Friday against Incarnate Word after dropping three in a row at Georgia's Bulldog Classic last weekend.
- Senior Claire Campbell has been tremendous thus far entering the weekend ranked fourth in the nation with a blistering .506 hitting percentage. The Raleigh, N.C. native has hit at least .300 in all six matches including four performances over .500.
- Charleston's serving corps began the season in record-setting form dropping in an overall and five-set single-match record 17 aces against Fresno State.
- The Cougars have spread the offensive wealth quite effectively thus far with four players averaging at least two kills per set through six matches. Senior Gabi Bailey leads the pack with 3.45 kills per set while Anna Smith and Claire Campbell are each averaging 2.23 kills per frame. Lexi Wierzbicki enters the weekend ranked fourth on the team at 2.11 kills per set.
- Incarnate Word carries a 1-3 record into the weekend after dropping three straight to Texas State (two) and Tarleton State. The Cardinals rank 19th in the nation in aces per set (2.23), led by Taylor Stoops who ranks ninth individually in that category. Allison Palmi paces three Cardinals averaging more than two kills per set with 37 in 12 sets (3.08/set).
- Wofford enters the weekend with a 2-4 record after sweeping USC Upstate to salvage a 1-2 mark at the Wofford Invitational last weekend. The Terriers rank 25th nationally averaging 16.67 digs per set which is tops in the Southern Conference. Bella Zeman and Sarah Barham lead the offense averaging 3.32 and 3.08 kills per set, respectively.
- Coastal Carolina stands at 4-2 on the season after going 1-2 at the TCU Tournament last weekend. The Chanticleers own the fourth-best hitting percentage (.249) in the Sun Belt thus far. Ella Saada and Agata Lesiak pace the Chants attack averaging 3.53 and 3.16 kills per set, respectively.
- Admission is free of charge for all College of Charleston volleyball matches at TD Arena.
- Gates will open one hour prior to first serve of the opening match each day.
- College of Charleston's clear bag policy is in effect for all matches played at TD Arena this fall. The full policy can be found here.
- There is no designated general parking area for games at TD Arena. There are various parking garages and paid lots in the vicinity of TD Arena that all spectators can utilize.
- Alcohol will be available for purchase at all CofC volleyball matches this fall with last call prior to the third set of the final match each day.
