No. 23 Cougars Extend Nation's Longest Winning Streak

Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. – The No. 23 College of Charleston men's basketball team extended the nation's longest winning streak to 14 on Thursday night as they defeated North Carolina A&T, 92-79.

The teams played back-and-forth basketball to start the contest as two early Raekwon Horton triples were key in responding to the Aggies' punches. Charleston went on a 9-0 run to take a 23-14 edge midway through the first frame with buckets from five different Cougar scorers.

The Aggies followed the Cougars burst with a 9-0 run of their own to come within two at 25-23 before a slam dunk by Ben Burnham silenced the Corbett Center along with two Ryan Larson 3-pointers to help the Cougars go on a 12-2 run and regain an 11-point advantage at 39-27, their largest of the game.

Charleston created 15 points off eight offensive rebounds in the first half to enter the locker room up 51-31 after a 53% shooting performance.

Pat Kelsey's squad started the second half on a 6-0 run and continued to dominate in all facets of the game to secure their 14th victory of the season.
