CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston and Northeastern face off in a pivotal CAA volleyball series this weekend as the two enter just one game apart in the standings and just six matches left on the slate. Charleston (6-6) enters just one game back of the Huskies (7-5) and spot in the CAA Tournament.
Seven teams sit within two games of the No. 4 seed including the Cougars and Huskies. Charleston still has matches next weekend against Hofstra, who also sits at 6-6 in the seven-team logjam.
Charleston hits the road to close the month of October after sweeping rival Elon for a 4-0 record this month at home. Northeastern enters having dropped four of their last six conference matches to Towson and Campbell – two teams in the top-three of the standings at the moment.
Lexi Wierzbicki led the Cougars with 27 kills (3.00/set), adding 23 digs (2.56/set). The graduate outside hitter reached double-digit kills in both games and recorded her fifth double-double (14K, 14D) Sunday.

Charleston and Northeastern have split the last 10 meetings 5 each dating back to the 2017 season. Neither team has won more than back-to-back matches since Charleston rattled off six-straight between 2013 and 2016 starting with the only postseason meeting in series history.
Charleston leads the series 12-7 in large part due to the six-game streak early in the series as the Cougars took seven of the first eight meetings. Five of the Cougars' 12 wins have come in the Cabot Center in Boston including the first three matchups in the building.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
