Three Cougars Earn CAA Preseason Honors; Cougars Tabbed Favorite

RICHMOND, Va. – College of Charleston was picked first in the Annual Coaches' Poll, while sophomores Caroline Noonan and Jumana Martin earned Preseason All-CAA honors and senior Gabby Tuiaana was selected as an Honorable Mention, as mentioned by the league on Wednesday.
Noonan, the 2025 CAA Rookie of the Year, played in 111 sets for the Cougars, tallying 298 kills and finished top 5 in the conference with 109 blocks and top 3 with a .342 hitting percentage. Against Hofstra in the regular season, she collected 33 kills in 2 matches, with an average hitting percentage of .361 as well as 13 blocks.
Martin, a 2025 All-CAA Second Team recipient, played in 112 sets and led the CAA in digs, tallying 575 on the season. Her 575 digs rank seventh all-time in school history in a single season during the Rally Scoring Era. In the regular season against William and Mary, she tallied 58 digs in 2 matches as well as 9 assists.
Tuiaana, a transfer from Central Arkansas, was Third Team All-ASUN, finishing with 257 kills, the second most on the team, and had 24 service aces and 72 blocks. She finished tenth in the ASUN with 318.5 points and her 3.58 points per set were seventh best.
The Cougars finished 18-10 last year, including 12-3 at home and 12-4 in conference play. The 12 home wins were the second most in the CAA, maintaining a strong home record that is up to 29-4 over the past two seasons.
Charleston, the 2026 preseason favorite, tallied 95 points and five first-place votes. Hofstra earned 87 points and four first-place votes while Towson garnered 83 points and two first-place votes.
The Cougars open the 2026 season in Nashville against Vanderbilt on Aug 28 at 8 p.m. eastern.
