CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson used a three-run rally in the eighth inning to squeak past Charleston 4-3 Tuesday from Doug Kingsmore Stadium in the first of two midweek meetings this season.

- Charleston got a rally started in the third inning with back-to-back one-out walks from Cam Dean and Joseph Mershon. Will Baumhofer made the Tigers pay with a single to left for a 1-0 Charleston lead through three innings.
- Tanner McCalliser clubbed his first HR of the season to deep left center and a 2-0 Cougar advantage in the fourth.
- Cole Mathis tossed a season-high 5.1 innings taking a no decision while striking out five and surrendering just one run on three hits.
- Clemson scored their first run in the sixth on a Cooper Ingle double to make it a 2-1 Charleston lead through six.
- The Cougars extended their lead to 3-1 in the seventh on a Trotter Harlan double to score Cam Dean.
