Charleston and UNCW enter the weekend tied with 20 wins each head-to-head dating back to 2009 with the Cougars taking two of three in Wilmington last season to bring it back even. In that 2022 series, Charleston clinched their second CAA regular season title in the Sunday 7-2 win going on to finish 19-5 in the league.
There's still plenty of jockeying for position among the top CAA seeds with just two weekends left as UNCW holds the slight edge over Northeastern in percentage points for the top spot while Elon and Charleston sit just two games back in the standings.
Charleston takes on (1) UNCW and (2) Northeastern to close out the season while the Seahawks take on (5) William & Mary next weekend, Northeastern travels to William & Mary this week and (3) Elon hosts (9) North Carolina A&T and travels to (7) Hofstra.
Any of the top six seeds are still possible for the Cougars and two wins this weekend would clinch a berth in the 2023 CAA Championships held at Patriots Point. UNCW and Northeastern have clinched spots but Elon and Charleston can join them this weekend.
