Cougars Score 11 in Sixth to top Penguins

Charleston took the lead in the second innings through a solo homer by Kevin Madden. An RBI single from Cole Singsank put the Cougs up two before the weather came into play as we entered a 45 minute rain delay in the fourth. After the delay, Charleston went up 3-0 when a wild pitched brought in Luke Wood. Aidan Hunter's day was done as we entered the sixth inning. The right-hander had another solid outing, holding Youngstown to no runs on four hits and a pair walks, striking out five. Emmett Bice came into to pitch and surrendered the lead as the Penguins scored three runs on five hits. Bice did however leave them loaded.
In the home-half of the six, Charleston put the game away. Youngstown pitchers could not find the strikezone as the first three batters for the Cougars walked. A few more walks and RBI singles from Tyler Sorrentino and Luke Wood had Charleston up 8-3. With the bases still loaded, Trotter Harlan stepped up to the plate and delivered the Cougs first grand slam of the season with a shot to right to make it 12-3.
