CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston baseball hosted Wofford today in game three of an even series. Connor Campbell set the tone with five shutout innings on the mound. Leading 3-0 after two, the Cougars bats broke the game open with two in 5th and six in the 6th to go up 11-0. Wofford made it interesting late with a grand slam in the 8th but never threatened from there as the Cougars took game three 11-7.

Campbell opened the game strong with a one, two, three inning out of the gate. The Cougars bats responded with a pair of runs through RBI ground-outs by Cole Singsank and Kevin Madden. Charleston added on to the lead in the second when Trotter Harlan was hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded. Campbell worked through the fifth inning, keeping Wofford off the board, allowing three hits, three walks and striking out five.

In the fifth, Charleston extended the lead to 5-0 when Dylan Johnson ripped a two RBI double to bring in Luke Wood and Kevin Madden. In the sixth, Harlan drove in a pair with a two RBI double of his own. Next man up was Cole Singsank and the DH hammered a two-run homer to center field. The Cougars continued to add on in the 6th through an RBI single by Dariyan Pendergrass, another run scored via an error on the play.

Wofford did not go down quietly, getting a two-run homer from Tyler Hare in the 7th. In the 8th, Wofford cut the Cougars lead in half when Hare hit a grand slam to make it 11-7. That would be the Terriers last opportunity as Davis Aiken shut the door in the 9th to clinch a series win.
