Cougars Fall in Finale at UNCW

WILMINGTON, N.C. - College of Charleston baseball dropped the series finale at UNCW 6-3. The loss snaps Charleston's six-game winning streak, but the Cougars still take the series with wins on Friday and Saturday.
UNCW jumped out in front with a run in the second inning. The Seahawks continued to add on, scoring one in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth, jumping out to a 5-0 lead. The Charleston bats strung some hits together in the seventh as Luke Wood and Dylan Johnson each drove in a run to make it 5-2.
The Seahawks pushed the lead to four with a run in the bottom of the eighth. A Kevin Madden RBI in the ninth made it 6-3 before UNCW closed out the game.
Key Cougars
The Cougars will make the short trip to Charleston Southern on Tuesday for a 6:00 p.m. start. It will be game two of the season series, CSU won 7-5 at Patriots Point back in March.
