
Women's Soccer Dominates Panthers; Improve to 3-0

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston women's soccer defeated High Point 3-0 on Thursday evening for their best start to the season since 2008.
The Cougars found their first goal late in the first half, when a shot from Caroline Fowlkes deflected off the cross bar and was put into the back of the net by Lilli Ray.
Early in the second half, the Cougars found a 2-0 lead when a drive into the final third from Shea Vidovic found Delaney Dawes in the box. Dawes laid off the ball to set Faith Slimmer up with the one touch finish into the goal.
The Cougars finished their scoring streak with a goal off a corner kick, where Vidovic was able to finish the ball from a scramble in the box. Vidovic holds four goals on the season through three games.
Savannah Barron had six saves to finish the day with a clean sheet, Barron's third this season.
The Cougars improve to a 3-0 record, conceding no goals thus far this season. With Thursday night's win, head coach Christian Michner improves to 99 career wins.
Charleston will look to continue their winning streak, traveling to Columbia to face South Carolina on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m.
