CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston women's soccer is set to host Hampton on Thursday, October 2 at Patriots Point. Kickoff will be at 7:00 p.m.
The Cougar's record is 6-4-1 overall and 2-1 in CAA play.
Charleston has been on the road for the last three games to start CAA play. The Cougars found dominating wins over Monmouth and Northeastern, allowing only one goal over two games while scoring six.
Bella Antonio was named CAA Player of the Week for her brace against Monmouth and assist in Boston.
Most recently, The College fell to UNCW 3-2 on Sunday, September 28.
Avery Nassetta and
Faith Slimmer scored in the loss for Charleston.
Ainsley Chunn allowed zero Seahawk goals in the second half, holding UNCW scoreless for 48 minutes. UNCW is the only remaining CAA team with a 3-0 record in conference play.
The Cougars have a four-way tie for most goals scored between
Emma Wennar, Antonio, Nassetta, and Slimmer who each have four goals this season. Antonio leads the group in assists with three. Wennar has taken almost double the number of shots as the next closest Cougar with 43 and 18 shots on goal.
In goal, Chunn has saved 32 shots this season while playing 962 minutes.
This season, Charleston has outscored its opponents 23 to 12 taking 192 shots to the opponents 83.
Hampton women's soccer sits at 5-6-1 this season with a 0-3 conference record so far. Most recently, Hampton fell to Campbell 2-0 at home on Sunday, September 28.
Thursday's game will mark the fourth all-time meeting between the Cougars and the Pirates. Charleston leads the series 3-0 winning twice at home and once on the road. Most recently, the Cougars traveled to Hampton in 2024 where they won 1-0. Over the series Charleston has scored 15 goals to Hampton's one.
