Charleston Plays Dartmouth in Weekend Series

MT PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston baseball hosts Dartmouth for a weekend series at Patriots Point March 14-16. First pitches are set for 6 p.m., 2 p.m. and 1 p.m. with all home games airing on FloCollege.
 
The Cougars face the Big Green for the first time in program history Friday, the second opponent in 2025 CofC had not previously played.
 
FIRST PITCH:
  • CofC beat Wofford, 9-8, Tuesday afternoon to improve to 10-5 on the year.
  • With the win, the Cougars are the first team in the CAA to reach double-digit victories.
  • Senior Dariyan Pendergrass went 2-for-4 with a run, 3 RBI and 3 stolen bases.
  • Pendergrass ranks 12th nationally with 13 swiped bags and 12th with 0.87 stolen bases per game.
  • Graduate Avery Neaves reached base in four of his five plate appearances, going 1-for-2 with two runs and 3 walks. Neaves enters the weekend with a .493 on base pct. and a team-best 21 runs scored.
  • Graduate Mike Eggert earned the win against his former team, tossing 1.1 scoreless innings in relief. The outing was Eggert's first in a Charleston uniform.
  • Senior Dylan Johnson threw out the would-be tying run attempting to steal second to end the game. Johnson has thrown out six base stealers this season.
 
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Charleston and Dartmouth face one another for the first time in program history. The Big Green join Creighton in the two schools the Cougars haven't previously squared off with.
 
UP NEXT:
  • Charleston begins a busy week of baseball as the team travels to Columbia on Tuesday, March 18 for a 6:30 p.m. contest against South Carolina at Segra Park. The Cougars then return home on Wednesday, March 19 for a 6 p.m. game versus Winthrop.
