MT PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston baseball hosts App State for a weekend series at Patriots Point, beginning on Friday, March 7. First pitches are scheduled for 4 p.m., 2 p.m. and 1 p.m. All Charleston home games air live on FloCollege.
Sunday's contest is Kid's Day at the ballpark with the first 50 kids receiving a youth t-shirt at the marketing table. Kids can also stick around for postgame autographs.
With the postponement of the midweek contest with No. 4 North Carolina, Charleston will play 10 straight games at home. The Cougars are also scheduled to play the entire month of games in the state of South Carolina.

FIRST PITCH:
- CofC lost its first series of the season to Creighton, dropping the rubber match on March 2, 8-4.
- The Cougars won the middle game of the set, 18-6, its largest margin of victory.
- Charleston recorded a season-high 18 runs and 18 hits in the victory with five different players tallying multi-hit performances.
- Senior Aidan Hunter fanned six Bluejays across five innings of work and has struck out six batters in his last two outings.
- Entering the weekend, Hunter ranks 12th in the country with 0.50 walks allowed per nine innings and 20th with a 15.00 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
- Freshman Landon Penfield was named the CAA Rookie of the Week on Monday.
- The freshman batted .400 (6-for-15) with three doubles, four runs scored and two RBI during the week.
- Penfield hit .600 (6-for-10) and scored at least one run in all three games of Charleston's series with Creighton, led by a 4-for-4 performance on Saturday with two doubles and two RBI.
SERIES HISTORY:
- Charleston and App State have faced one another 48 times in program history, with the Cougars holding a 35-13 advantage in the all-time series. The last game between the two programs was on March 21, 2023, a 4-3 win for the Mountaineers. The previous three-game series took place April 4-8, 2012, with App State winning the series.
UP NEXT:
- The Cougars host Wofford for its first home midweek on Tuesday, March 11. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Patriots Point.
