CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST UNCW:
- UNCW hit five home runs with its first coming in the fourth for a 2-0 advantage.
- Freshman Landon Penfield cut the Seahawks lead in half in the home half of the frame with an RBI single to bring home graduate Avery Neaves.
- The Seahawks hit homers in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings to tack onto their lead.
- Charleston looked to mount a comeback with a five-run eighth inning.
- Senior Dylan Johnson led off the frame with a solo homer before freshman Rafael Soto singled in a pair later in the inning. Singles from senior Dariyan Pendergrass and freshman Landon Penfield made it a 9-6 ballgame.
- UNCW responded in the ninth, hitting its fifth longball of the day before adding another insurance marker with an RBI single.
- Penfield and fellow first year Alex LaCoste both recorded three hit days in the setback.
OF NOTE:
- Charleston is 24-26 all-time against UNCW and 15-10 at home.
- Penfield tallied his fourth three-hit ballgame of the year while LaCoste picked up his second.

Charleston looks to avoid the sweep on Sunday, April 27. First pitch against the Seahawks is set for 1 p.m. from Patriots Point.
