MT PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston baseball concludes the month of April with a midweek match against Georgia Southern on Wednesday, April 30, at Patriots Point. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
Wednesday is The Office Night at Patriots where fans can enjoy themed in-game content inspired by the classic show.

FIRST PITCH:
- Charleston beat UNCW on Sunday, 5-2, to avoid the sweep. Three different Cougars recorded multi-hit performances, including senior Ben Venables, who singled home the game-winning run in the seventh.
- Redshirt junior Alex Lyon tossed a career-high five innings, mowing down the Seahawk offense.
- Lyon yielded just two hits in the scoreless outing en route to his seventh victory of the campaign.
- Lyon is the first Charleston reliever to tally seven wins since Carter Love went 7-0 in 2018.
- Head coach Chad Holbrook earned his 449th career win as a head coach and 249th with the Cougars.
SERIES HISTORY:
- Charleston is 40-39 overall against Georgia Southern and 21-13 at home. The Cougars beat the Eagles in the first game of the home-and-home series, 6-3, back on Feb. 25 in Statesboro, Ga.
- Graduate Avery Neaves launched a two-run homer in the fifth before CofC plated three runs in the top of the sixth, propelling them to victory.
- Redshirt junior Daniel Brooks earned the win, striking out five in 5.2 innings of work. Redshirt freshman Kevin Samonsky hurled 2.1 scoreless before handing the ball off to senior Davis Aiken.

- Charleston travels to Virginia to take on William & Mary for a three-game set May 2-4. First pitch on Friday is set for 6 p.m.
