CHARLESTON, S.C. - College of Charleston head men's basketball coach Chris Mack has announced the addition of Big South Freshman of the Year Mister Dean to the Cougars' 2025-2026 roster.
A Miami native, the 6'6" guard averaged 15.7 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game last season at USC Upstate. He comes to Charleston with three years of eligibility remaining.
"We are excited to announce the signing of Mister Dean to our roster for the upcoming season. Mister is a high-major athlete with a non-stop motor who brings a tenaciousness to the floor in everything he does," said Mack. "Being a younger player, his best days are still ahead as he continues to sharpen his skill level and decision making."
Dean's 15.7 points per game ranked fifth overall in the Big South. He was third in field goal percentage, shooting 57% from the floor, while leading the league with 2.1 steals per game. He scored in double figures 24 times out of 31 games while scoring 20+ points 10 times on the season.
He was named Big South Freshman of the week six times, and tallied a career-high 25 points against UNC Asheville. He also secured his first career double-double vs. UNC Asheville with 11 rebounds.
Dean recorded a season-high six steals against Charleston Southern while snatching a league-high 63 steals, good for 24
th in the nation. He was Upstate's leading shot blocker with 20 on the year.
