CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team returns to TD for a matchup against UNCW Friday night.

OPENING TIP — CofC, the preseason Coastal Athletic Association favorites, is 10-0 in CAA play and off to the best start in conference play in program history. The team is 18-3 overall and finished non-conference play 8-3 with quality wins at Quinnipiac (now a top-20 mid-major program) and at Florida State.
The Cougars' win over the Seminoles gave them a win over a Power 4 school for the second consecutive year. It was also Charleston's first victory over an ACC school since CofC defeated Clemson in 2009.
The Cougars are currently ranked 7th in the most recent College Insider Mid-Major top-25 rankings, which the highest ranking in program history. CofC is ranked No. 98 in the Torvik and No. 99 in the NET.
CofC returns two starters from last years WNIT Super 16 squad, including the reigning CAA Player of the Year in Taryn Barbot.
Charleston returns six key contributors from last year's team, while adding seven newcomers, including two starting transfers in Tyja Beans (Western Carolina), Grace Ezebilo (Tyler Junior College).
The 2024-25 Charleston women's basketball team set a record for the most wins in the program's Division I era with 25. Charleston also earned its first Power 4 win since 2009 with a 68-62 victory over Northwestern at the Hawk Classic on December 20, 2024.

AMONG THE NCAA — The Cougars currently have three players who are in the top-20 in the nation in their respective categories. Grace Ezebilo is 4th in the country in offensive rebounds per game (4.3), 6th in rebounds per game (11.8), 8th in total rebounds (248) and is also in the top-20 in defensive boards per game (7.5). Taylor Barbot is one of only 22 players in the country to record a triple-double and is also in the top-20 in assists per game (6.2), total assists (130) and assist/turnover ratio (2.36). Taryn Barbot is in the top-20 in free throw percentage (90.3%).
As a team, Charleston is 8th in the country in offensive rebounds per game (16.2) and is in the top-20 in turnover margin (6.71).

With the win, the Cougars earned their 800th win in program history.

SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS — After starting conference play with a win over Northeastern, UNCW has lost nine straight contests. The Seahawks are 5-16 overall and 1-10 on the road this year.
The Seahawks are led by graduate guard Rori Cox who's averaging 14.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. She was also the CAA Player of the Week on December 1st. The other double-digit scorer for UNCW is redshirt sophomore guard Kylah Silver. Silver's averaging 11.8 points and 5.4 boards per contest. Silver was the CAA Player of the Week on November 24th.
UNCW was picked 10th in the CAA Preseason Poll and is currently 13th in the CAA.
MATCHUP HISTORY VS. UNCW — Charleston is 21-20 all-time against UNCW and the Cougars have won the last five contests between the two teams, including a 71-37 route on January 23. At home, CofC holds a 10-8 record against the Seahawks.

She also won the award on January 5 after averaging 26.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game in the opening weekend of conference play. Additionally, She was named the CAA Player of the Week on December 1 after a strong week at the Big Easy Classic in New Orleans, and once more on November 17 after posting her eighth career 30-point game in the 75-44 win over Iona.

THE HARMONY FILE — The 2025-26 campaign is Robin Harmony's seventh as the head coach at College of Charleston. Harmony was named the program's eighth head coach on April 19, 2019 and has earned 113 wins at CofC, including back-to-back 20 win seasons at the helm.
In her most recent season, Harmony led the Cougars to their winningest season in D1 program history with 25 wins. The Cougars advanced to the semifinals of the CAA conference tournament and the Super 16 in the WNIT after earning their first postseason victory ever on their home court.

The Floral Park, N.Y. native amassed the 1,000 point mark on March 24, 2025 and became the first sophomore in program history and the fastest Charleston basketball player to do so (64 games). She's now scored 1,455 points as a Cougar and is 11th on the Charleston's all-time scoring list. She's also just the seventh Cougar in program history to score over 1,000 points and grab over 500 rebounds.

- After trailing for the majority of the first quarter, back-to-back triples from Sophia Tougas and a layup from Anilys Rolon gave the Cougars a 17-15 lead after the first 10 minutes.
- Rolon continued to stay hot as she drilled a three to put CofC up 24-19 and forced a Camels timeout with 6:34 left in the half.
- The Cougars and the Camels traded buckets for the rest of the half with Charleston taking a 31-28 edge into the break.
- Down 39-38 with 4:38 left in the third, Charleston closed the quarter on a 9-3 spurt to take a 47-42 advantage into the final stanza.
- CofC continued its run as the Cougars scored the first nine points of the fourth quarter to take control of the game with a 56-42 lead with 5:00 left to play.
- Campbell pulled within 10 with 2:40 remaining, but buckets from Taylor and Taryn Barbot sealed the game as the Cougars went on the win by a final score of 61-49 at Gore Arena.

- Vertical IDs will not be accepted at sales locations regardless of the individual's age.
- All ID checks will be handled directly by our Aramark concession partners at each stand. EPI staff will no longer check ID's or provide wristbands.
- No more than two (2) alcoholic beverages may be sold or served per transaction.
WHAT TO EXPECT — Fans will enter TD Arena at the Meeting Street entrance.
- Once inside, fans will be asked to take their belongings out of their pockets and place them in a bin. This includes phone, wallet, keys, etc.
- If you bring a bag compliant with the Clear Bag policy, your items can be placed in the bag.
- EPI security staff will provide guidance on when to walk through the magnetometer and assist in retrieving your belongings after you clear through the magnetometer.
