Softball Earns CSC Academic All-District Honors

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Halle Cannon, Ryley Kutter and Leela Langston of the Charleston softball team earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the 2026 season.
The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To earn the award, athletes must be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing at their current institution, have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 and participate in at least 90% of their team's games or start in 66%.
Cannon graduated the College with a 3.786 cumulative GPA in the exercise science major. The graduate from Bainbridge, Ga. started in 57 of Charleston's 60 games this season with a .317 batting average. In league action, Cannon leads the Cougars with a .355 batting average. She had two home runs in the CAA Tournament and was named to the CAA All-Tournament Team.
Kutter boasts a 3.719 GPA following her junior year. The marketing major from Duluth, Ga. pitched 83.1 innings with three complete games this season. Kutter holds the lowest conference ERA on the team with 2.83. Against Hampton, the junior recorded a career high nine strikeouts in a single game.
Langston from Atlanta, Ga. finished her sophomore season with a 3.521 GPA. She appeared in all 60 games this season, starting in 59. Langston drove in a team high 43 runs while tallying 62 hits. Against Georgia in the NCAA Tournament, Langston hit a home run and ended the season on a four-game hitting streak. In the second week of action, the catcher was named CAA Player of the Week after hitting three straight walk-offs.
Charleston softball ended the season 30-30 overall and 14-10 in conference play. The Cougars won the program's first ever CAA Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in program history. Head coach Maggie Mrowka became just the third coach in CAA history to win the title during their first year.
