Softball Concludes Season at NCAA Athens Regional with Loss to Clemson

ATHENS, Ga. – The College of Charleston softball team (30-30) concluded the 2026 campaign in the NCAA Athens Regional with a 3-1 loss to Clemson, marking the program's first postseason appearance since 2005 and the second all-time in program history.
The Cougars won the program's first-ever CAA Softball Championship with a 5-0 shutout against No. 1 seed Hofstra back on May 9.

- Clemson got on the board first thanks to an unearned run in the opening inning.
- Charleston had two separate occasions with two baserunners on throughout the game, the first being the bottom of the second after back-to-back walks put Samantha Horn and Audri Bates on.
- Austy Miller led off the bottom of the fourth with a single to center field before stealing both second and third. Sierra Paradis drove in Charleston's lone run of the day to tie the contest on another single to center field to send Miller home.
- Mackenzie Mathis posted three up, three down innings from the circle in the third and fifth frames.
- Charleston had another opportunity with two on in the bottom of the fifth with hits from Miller and Leela Langston but could not find the go-ahead run.
- Clemson broke the stalemate in the bottom of the sixth with two runs to help secure the 3-1 win.
- With one stolen base, Bronwyn Conroy tied Delaware's Leanna Gearhart for second-most stolen bases (44) in a single season in CAA History.
- Mathis struck out two batters and allowed seven hits on 31 batters faced.
- Paradis led Charleston with two hits in her final collegiate game. Conroy, Langston, and Miller all added one on the day.
