Cameron Miles joins the College of Charleston women’s basketball staff as an Assistant Coach to Head Coach Robin Harmony.
Miles spent the 2016-19 seasons with Harmony at Lamar University, helping establish one of the most successful women’s basketball programs in the Southland Conference. In the 2018-19 season the Cardinals posted a 24-7 overall record, won a regular-season title and made their second-straight Women’s NIT appearance. Miles was part of a staff that led the Lady Cardinals to back-to-back-to-back national postseason tournaments over the past three seasons.
"I'm delighted that Cameron has joined our basketball family here in Charleston," Harmony said. "I've worked with him for a number of years and he's a tremendous person, a tireless worker and will prove a major asset in developing a championship program here at The College."
While with the Cardinals, Miles was responsible for the logistics of team travel, working with the academic and compliance departments to ensure student-athlete eligibility, assisting with practice plans and scouting reports, coordinating video exchanges with opponents, assisting visiting teams with practice times and other requests and serving as a liaison with other departments within athletics and on campus. He will undertake a similar role at the College of Charleston.
Miles grew up in an athletic family. His sister, Ashlan, is a current member of the Lamar University women’s basketball team, while his brother C.J., a member of the Memphis Grizzles, is in his 14th season in the NBA. His older sister, Andrea, played basketball at Rogers State.
As a student-athlete, Miles appeared in 114 games with the University of San Diego, netting a career-high 15 points against San Francisco. He graduated from USD with a degree in ethnic studies.
The native of Dallas, Texas, played high school basketball at Dallas Skyline High School, earning all-state honors as a senior as he averaged 15.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game.
He served on the coaching staff of Heroes Elite, an AAU team in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
