Schulte guided the Cougars to a 47-16 overall record and 17-4 in conference play this season. The 47 regular season wins is more than any team in Southern Conference regular season history and a tie for the most by any team at the College of Charleston.
The Cougars, who capture the Southern Conference regular season title last Sunday, had four players named to the first team. Rachael Stern picked up first team honors for the second time in her career. Stern was a second team pick last season.
Catcher Jayme Durand, shortstop Jessica Lyness and right fielder Leshe Russell also captured first team honors.
Renee Francis, Bridget Loudermilk and Berni Martinez earned second team honors for the Cougars, who had more representatives named all-conference than any other team.
East Tennessee State's Janine Sprague was named Player of the Year and Lacey Swarthout garnered Pitcher of the Year honors. Georgia Southern's Robyne Siliga was named Freshman of the Year.
The Cougars will begin their trek to capture the school's first tournament championships and secure the first NCAA tournament bid in CofC history with a 6:00pm game against Furman at Patriots Point on Thursday.
