Brandon Waring homered twice and drove in six runs to lead No. 9 seed Wofford to a 19-6 upset over No. 1 seed College of Charleston in the second round of the Southern Conference baseball tournament Wednesday afternoon at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park.
Waring, a first team All-Southern Conference selection, went 5-for-6 with a pair of homers, six RBIs and five runs. Senior John Brandt added four RBIs and a home run while going 3-for-5 at the plate. Starter Austin Redwine (6-5) scattered 11 hits and a walk over 7 2/3 innings while striking out five. The senior workhorse tossed 129 pitches in his second-longest outing of the season.

The Terriers (27-31) jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the third inning. College of Charleston (39-18) came within two runs after scoring three in the bottom of the fourth, but could not keep up with the Wofford offense.
