
Cougars Fall at Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Freshman Mikaela Hopkins led the College of Charleston women's basketball team with 10 points and five rebounds as the Cougars fell 56-39 at Davidson Saturday at Belk Arena.
The Wildcats held the Cougars scoreless until the 14:49 mark of the first half when sophomore guard Alyssa Frye knocked down a 3-pointer to make the score 4-3. Davidson would go on a 18-4 run over the next eight minutes to go up 22-7.
The Cougars (2-6, 1-2) fought back as they held Davidson (5-4, 2-0) scoreless for the final 3:54 of the half and went to the locker room down 27-13.
In the second half the Cougars would close to within eight points at 39-31 as Hopkins scored eight of her 10 points in the second half.
The Cougars resume competition on Monday Dec. 19 as they travel to Boone, N.C. to battle Appalachian State.
