
Cougars Fall to Georgia Southern

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's basketball team held Georgia Southern to 12 first half points, but fell 35-34 Wednesday night at TD Arena.
Junior Cathryn Hardy led the team with 10 points and seven rebounds and Latisha Harris added seven points and nine rebounds.
The Cougars (3-15, 2-7) defense was aggressive all night, holding the Lady Eagles to 31.8 percent shooting and forcing Georgia Southern into 29 turnovers. CofC recorded the third most steals in team history with 20 and sophomore Jillian Brown totaled six steals for the game.
Georgia Southern (6-12, 2-7) made four three-pointers in the second half to give them momentum. They led 35-32 with five minutes left in the second half, until a Harris layup brought the Cougars to within one at 35-34.
The Cougars had one last chance down by one with 18 seconds left, but missed a jumper on their final possession of the game.
