RICHMOND, Va. – The College of Charleston Junior Centerfielder Rebecca Mueller has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week for all games Feb. 6-8, as announced by league offices.
The Fair Oaks, Calif. native helped the Cougars start the season with a 3-1 overall record in the Charleston Challenge hosted at Patriots Point over opening weekend.
Mueller batted .455 (5-for-11) on the weekend with 7 RBI's and three runs scored, adding two doubles and one triple for a .818 slugging percentage.
She was perfect defensively with five putouts also adding a bases loaded triple against Bethune-Cookman to help extend the Cougar lead. She plated three RBI's in two of the four games played by the The College.
Mueller was the first CAA Player of the Week honoree in the 2015 season.
CofC will head to Columbia, S.C. for a tough slate of games in the Gamecock Invitational Friday, Feb. 13-15 including matchups with the host South Carolina, North Carolina, Presbytarian, and Appalachian St.
