COUGAR SOUND BITES
"They (High Point) are a good team and will be another challenge coming up for us. We've had a few days to try to prepare for them. They have a very good program with good players and are well coached. We will prepare for High Point and then we will figure out and concentrate on what's next on our plate (after finals)." – Coach Grant on hosting High Point on Monday night
"We work really hard on making it tough for an opponent. I wish we could get more offensive rebounds early and more transition. With all of the stops we are getting, you would think we could knock a ball loose and get more fast break points. I enjoy watching a game where an opponent has a hard time scoring. We will continue to try to find a way to get some easy baskets, transition points and some of those offensive rebounds in a game." – Coach Grant on the slow offensive start for both teams in the Western Carolina game
"I am excited about Osi (Smart). He is a freshman. He is physical and does everything we ask him to do. He was three points away from a double-double. He did a great job of protecting the rim and great job of rebounding. He does a good job of screening. I am happy about his development, and hopefully, he will continue to develop and grow as we go through the season." – Coach Grant on redshirt freshman big man Osinachi Smart's play against Western Carolina with Jarrell Brantley still out of the lineup
