Cougars And Eagles To Resume Season Series Tuesday

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team and Georgia Southern will resume their season series on Tuesday evening in Statesboro, Ga., with both clubs looking for a return to the win column. Sophomore Austin George (Mooresville, N.C.) is scheduled to make his fourth start of the season for the Cougars opposite Georgia Southern sophomore Braxton Johns. First pitch is set for 6:00 pm.

Nathan Ocker has been nothing short of magnificent out of the bullpen this season, surrendering just three runs in 31 and one-third innings while coming into the week with a WHIP of 0.64. The junior right-hander has not surrendered a run in 21 and one-third consecutive innings, and in that span, has allowed only 16 base runners.
Leading the Pack
The Cougars come into the week leading the CAA in nearly every offensive category, batting .288 as a team with 207 runs scored, 64 doubles, 38 home runs, and 52 stolen bases, while combining for a .446 slugging percentage. CofC also leads the CAA with a 2.69 team ERA, and has allowed the least number of home runs (12).
Scouting Georgia Southern
Georgia Southern enters the week with a 16-19 overall record following a weekend sweep at the hands of South Alabama. The Eagles have lost four straight, and are batting .231 as a team with 15 home runs this season.
Mason McWhorter leads the team with 10 doubles, six home runs and 26 RBIs while batting .260. Braxton Johns will make his first start of the season for the Eagles on Tuesday, with a 2-2 record and a 6.75 ERA in 17 appearances out of the bullpen.
