STATESBORO, Ga. --- Danny Wondrack (Wall, N.J.) plated two with a double in the seventh, and Ari Sechopoulos (Windsor, Ontario, Canada) led off the ninth with a home run to spark a late inning rally for the College of Charleston baseball team on Tuesday night, as Georgia Southern held on for a narrow 6-4 victory in non-conference play.

The setback marks only the fourth back-to-back loss for College of Charleston (27-11) this season, as the Cougars total four runs on eight hits – including two for extra bases. Georgia Southern (17-19) plated six runs on eight base knocks.

Sechopoulos went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a solo home run, while Wondrack drove in two with a seventh-inning double. K.J. Bryant (Taylors, S.C.) reached base three times with two singles and a walk in his return to the lineup, and Luke Morgan (New Lenox, Ill.) added an RBI single.

Austin George (Mooresville, N.C.) pitched into the second inning, and allowed three runs on four hits while taking the loss. Brian Rourke (Germantown, Md.) entered with a runner on second in the second, and struck out four in four shutout innings before surrendering three runs in the sixth. Clay Hunt (Fort Mill, S.C.) recorded the final out of the seventh, while Justin Baker (Huntersville, N.C.) pitched a perfect eighth.

Jason Swan led the way for Georgia Southern with a 2-for-4 night, scoring one run and driving in two more. Austin Thompson and Nolan Tressler each drove in one run, while Mitchell Golden went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and made several key defensive plays at third base.

Braxton Johns scattered three hits and one walk across six scoreless innings to pick up the win for the Eagles. Hayden Harris surrendered two runs without recording an out in the seventh, while Eric Goldstein was tagged for one run on four hits in the inning as well. David Johnson allowed one run in two innings to earn the save.

The Cougars will travel to Hempstead, N.Y. this weekend to resume Colonial Athletic Association play in a three-game set at Hofstra. First pitch for Friday's series opener is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
