GAME PREVIEW
Unbeaten and current Colonial Athletic Association leader Hofstra (16-3, 6-0 CAA) is the next test for the College of Charleston men's basketball team (14-5, 3-3 CAA) to complete its weekend conference road swing on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 4 p.m. (ET) in Hempstead, N.Y. The Cougars are looking to right the ship after dropping three of their last four contests in league play including a 69-60 road loss at preseason favorite Northeastern on Jan. 17. With one of the more veteran teams in the league, Charleston can do just that behind its top scoring duo of junior guard Grant Riller and senior forward Jarrell Brantley, who combined for 30 of the team's points against the Huskies. The CAA's top defensive ballclub meets the CAA's top offensive squad as the Cougars are holding opponents to 66.9 points per game, while the Pride are averaging 82.2 points per game. CofC was picked to finish second in the preseason conference poll, while Hofstra was third. Both are also currently ranked No. 13 and No. 5 respectively in this week's CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll.
EYE ON THE PRIDE
Hofstra is led by preseason CAA Player of the Year Justin Wright-Foreman, who currently ranks No. 3 nationally averaging 26.5 points per game. The Pride own the third-longest win streak in the country having won 13 in a row right behind nationally-ranked Michigan (17) and Virginia (16). They are also a perfect 11-0 on their home court this season. In its last outing, Hofstra was down 42-41 at halftime to UNCW, but pulled away in the second half for an 87-72 victory over the Seahawks on Jan. 17. The Pride has scored 87-or-more points in all but two of their CAA games this year.

COUGAR SOUND BITES
"Anytime you go on the road is tough. We have two back-to-back challenges. We didn't do enough tonight (against Northeastern). It was disappointing. We played with enough energy in the first half, but got off to a slow start in the second half. They made some shots. Now, we just have to prepare, come up with a good game plan and get ready for another one on Saturday." – CofC Head Coach Earl Grant on salvaging this weekend's two-game road swing against two of the best teams in the league
"They (Northeastern) crowded the lane and did a good job there. They really made it hard for them to get shots off. I thought Grant (Riller) did a good job of passing the ball and trying to make good plays for his teammates. We just didn't make the shots. We had some open threes and we didn't knock them in. He made the right play the way they were guarding him and crowding him. They sent two guys at him, but we didn't do a good job of making them pay for it." – Coach Grant on what Northeastern did to limit Grant Riller and Jarrell Brantley in scoring
"He is a big challenge. He can score on all three levels. As a defender, you gotta know he is going to make tough shots even with good defense, so you can't get too down on that. You just have to make him make more tough ones than easy ones." – Junior Guard Grant Riller on how to defend one of the nation's top scorers in Hofstra's Justin Wright-Foreman
