James Madison Takes Series Finale from Cougars

Harrisonburg, Va. – James Madison had grand slams in the first two innings and went on to a 16-0 victory over the College of Charleston to conclude the CAA series.
The Cougars (21-25, 5-10 CAA) dropped into a sixth-place tie with Delaware with the two teams set to meet next weekend at Patriots Point. The Dukes, ranked 20th in the nation, are 36-7 overall and 14-1 in the conference.
Kierstin Roadcap hit a grand slam in a six-run first, and Odicci Alexander homered with the bases loaded in the second. Alexander also tossed a one-hitter with four strikeouts in five innings, allowing only a single to Noel Dominguez in the fourth.
The Cougars play their final seven regular season games at home beginning with a non-conference contest against Coastal Carolina on Tuesday at 5:00.
