The Short Story: Talia Colchico's effort not enough to take down Furman in final match of Charleston Under Armour Invitational. Three Cougars named to the All-Tournament Team.
QUICK FACTS
• Senior Talia Colchico scored the lone goal for the Cougars on the only shot she took.
• CofC held the edge in shots, 14-10, while being even in shots on goal with each team registering four.
• Freshmen Olivia Freitas and Grace Powell logged a team-high three shots.
• Overall, nine different Cougars took a shot at goal.
• Freshman Natalie Sgro received the only caution of the game in the 64th minute.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• In the 11th minute, Colchico gathered a deflected corner kick on the right side of the six-yard box and rocketed a ball into the back of the net to take the lead for The College.
• Freitas aimed to extend the Cougars lead in the 13th minute, but her shot was saved by the Paladin keeper.
• Furman evened the score just before halftime and then took the lead in the 75th minute .
• In the 61st minute, Freitas looked to once again take the lead, but her shot was saved by Kellsey Weaver.
• Powell attempted to tie the score in the 87th minute, but her shot was just high of the top crossbar.

"It was such a fun game today against a really good Furman team. We always seem to have back and forth affairs with them. Although we were disappointed in the result, I'm happy with the effort. We put some great things together. I'm just really excited to get back on the field again this week and work on getting better."
WHAT'S NEXT
The Cougars travel to Kennesaw State on Thursday, Aug. 29 with kick-off scheduled for 7 p.m. for their first of a three-game road stint in Kennesaw, Ga.
