Cougars Fall to Towson in CAA Semifinal

TOWSON, Md. --- The Towson Tigers survived a late rally in the second set and rallied from a four-point deficit in set three to complete a straight sweep and advance past College of Charleston into the championship match of the Colonial Athletic Association Volleyball Championship on Friday afternoon in SECU Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Freshman Sofie Vogel provided a spark off the bench with four kills on 11 swings without an error. She also added a team-high four blocks.
NOTABLES
The Cougars are expected to return 13 letter-winners from this year's squad including rising seniors Dunston, Brooke Harris and Molly Russell along with Campbell, a rising redshirt junior.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tigers recorded six blocks and limited the Cougars to eight kills in a 25-19 first-set win.
- Charleston fought back from a 17-12 deficit in set two to tie the score at 22-22 before Towson claimed the set with a 3-1 spurt.
- The Tigers completed the sweep with a set-ending 7-0 run to erase a 22-18 deficit in the third frame.
- Towson compiled 41 kills and hit .176 in the match while limiting Charleston to 30 kills and a .059 hitting percentage.
