CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team returns to the friendly confines of Patriots Point on Tuesday to begin its longest homestand of the season with a two-game midweek series against Penn. First pitch for Tuesday's game one is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
Charleston is looking to bounce back from a series sweep at the hands of High Point this weekend while Penn comes into the week with a 3-4 record after dropping three of four to Wofford.

LEADING OFF
- Charleston is off to its best home start since the 2014 season entering the week with an unblemished 6-0 mark at Patriots Point thus far. The Cougars have begun the season with a better home record only four times in the program's history with the 2007 and 2009 teams tied for the top spot at 10-0.
- Junior Trotter Harlan has been an on-base machine so far this season with an on-base percentage of .543 through 11 games. The Fountain Inn, S.C. native has reached base in 22 of the last 23 games dating back to last season and currently ranks fifth in the nation in walks (14). He also ranks 21st in stolen bases (8).
- Charleston's pitching staff has been superb through the first 11 games of the season entering the week ranked 12th in the nation in WHIP (1.03), 19th in walks allowed per nine innings (2.80), 20th in hits allowed per nine innings (6.46) and 25th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.52).
- The Cougars have held opponents to a .197 batting average and 10 extra-base hits while surrendering only 29 walks and striking out 102 batters in 93.1 innings of work.
- Junior Emmett Bice was superb in his first appearance of the season on Saturday, tossing two shutout innings out of the bullpen with a career-high three strikeouts.
- Junior transfer JT Marr has been superb in his first season as a Cougar carrying an 11-game reached base streak into the week including five straight multi-games to open the campaign. The 6-foot-1 catcher currently leads the team in batting average, hits, doubles and slugging percentage.
- The Quakers carry a 3-4 record into the week after dropping three of four at Wofford this past weekend.
- Penn made a statement on opening weekend taking two of three at Texas A&M to begin the season.
- The Quakers have combined for a .242 batting average as a team through seven games led by Wyatt Henseler who leads the team batting .440 with two home runs and seven RBI.
- Andrew Hernandez and Calvin Brown are both batting over .300 as well with averages of .348 and .333 respectively.
- Owen Coady paces the Quaker bullpen entering the week with a 1-0 record and 15 strikeouts in nine and two-thirds scoreless innings of work.
