CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team will play its final game of the 2022 campaign at Patriots Point on Tuesday when the Cougars host crosstown foe The Citadel in the second contest of the season series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Patriots Point.
Charleston has won 18 of its last 20 games and five straight after taking two against Charleston Southern over the weekend. The Citadel bounced back from a Friday setback with back-to-back wins over Samford on Saturday and Sunday to move to 24-26 overall and 4-14 in SoCon play.

- The Cougars have been rolling over the last seven weeks having won 18 of their last 20 overall including 14 of the last 15 in CAA play to secure the program's second CAA regular season title with two weeks remaining.
- Charleston's offense has been firing on all cylinders over the last 13 games scoring 102 runs and combining for a .308 batting average in that span. Freshman Tyler Sorrentino leads the way during that stretch with 16 RBI and a blistering .365 batting average.
- Sophomore William Privette has been lights out this season out of the bullpen currently leading the nation in ERA (0.70) while ranking fifth in hits allowed per nine innings (5.05), sixth in saves (12) and ninth in WHIP (0.85).
- Joseph Mershon has been on a tear over the last 13 games batting .364 with two home runs and seven RBI to raise his season batting average from .242 to .295. The junior second baseman delivered in a big way over the weekend against Charleston Southern driving in six runs including four in a 3-for-4 effort on Sunday.
- The Cougars have been ruthless with two outs on the scoreboard this season accounting for more than a third (35.2%) of their total run output with two down. Charleston has totaled 117 runs with two outs this season scoring at least two runs with two down in 28 of 49 games thus far.
