
Women's Basketball Hosts Elon for National Girls and Women in Sports Celebration

CHARLESTON, S.C.-The College of Charleston women's basketball team continues their home stand to face Elon on Sunday, tip-off at 2 p.m. Charleston will also be honoring women and girls in sports at the game.
Charleston will be facing Elon for the first time this season. Last season the Cougars lost both contests against the Phoenix where the Cougars lost 71-66 in overtime at TD Arena.
Charleston (9-11, 4-6 CAA) won against UNCW on Friday night in overtime 71-63 at TD Arena. Jaila Roberts recorded a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Alexis Andrews matched a career-high 18 points. Adaora Onwumelu recorded a new career high with 12 points.
The Phoenix (6-16, 2-9 CAA) won against North Carolina A&T on Friday night 63-56 in Elon where Evonna McGill led with 16 points.
College of Charleston will head north next to face Drexel (Feb. 10) and Delaware (Feb.12).
