Towson Rallies in Sixth to Take Down Charleston

TOWSON, MD. - The College of Charleston softball team dropped the final game of their first CAA road series to Towson 9-5 Sunday afternoon.
After Towson took an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, Caroline Conner retired seven straight, striking out six in the process.
Malaka Belser continued her offensive hot streak, driving in the Cougars' first three runs on a bases-loaded double in the third inning. The sophomore then scored on a wild pitch to give CofC a one-run lead.
Shealyn Starks went 3-3 at the plate, including a double that drove in the fifth run for the Cougars in the fourth frame.
Three errors in the bottom of the sixth allowed Towson to tie the game, followed by a grand slam that sealed the Tiger win.

The Cougars return home to host CAA newcomer Hampton in a weekend series starting Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
