RICHMOND, Va. --- The College of Charleston men's basketball program and the CAA announced the 2023-24 conference slate Tuesday afternoon.
The Cougars will look to defend their title as league champions in the 18-game CAA schedule leading up to the 2024 Jersey Mike's CAA Men's Basketball Championship to be played March 8-12 at the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.
Charleston's conference run tips off Jan. 4 when the Cougars travel to Hofstra. The Pride and the Cougars shared the regular-season league title a year ago. Charleston will bookend the season with the marquee match-up when the Cougars welcome Hofstra to TD Arena on March 2.
The Cougars will play five opponents both home and away (Hofstra, Towson, UNCW, Campbell, William & Mary) with single games at Stony Brook, Hampton, Northeastern and Delaware. Single contests at home versus Elon, Monmouth, North Carolina A&T and Drexel round out Charleston's CAA slate.
The league accommodated regional rivalries with input from the institutions throughout the process for the selection of repeat opponents, which were announced in August. All conference games will be available nationally on either FloHoops or CBS Sports Network with some contests on various regional and local television on the East Coast. Television information and game times will be announced at a later date.
Campbell is the lone new member of the league season. The Cougars and Camels will meet for the first time since 2015 on January 27. Charleston leads the all-time series between the programs 13-2.
CofC is slated to open the season at home for the seventh time in the last eight years when the Cougars host Iona on Monday, November 6.
Limited season tickets are available now and can be purchased here. Charleston Athletics does not anticipate having single game tickets available for any contest this season.
