CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's basketball team fell to Towson 82-78 Thursday night at TD Arena. It is the Cougars' first CAA loss of the season and snaps a nine-game win streak.

Towson took advantage of an early 6-0 run and hit four straight triples to go up 16-7 at the first media timeout. CofC started to fight back, forcing two consecutive turnovers and a two-minute scoring drought from the Tigers.

The Cougars fell behind by as much as nine in the first half. Charleston continued to fight and tied it at 28-28 an
Ante Brzovic three-point play.
Ben Burnham drained a triple to take a 33-30 lead, giving the Cougars their first lead since the opening basket. Both teams traded triples in the final minute of the half. It looked like Towson would enter the locker room up two until
Kobe Rodgers drove down the court with five seconds remaining to tie the game at 38-38.

Both teams traded baskets out of the locker room to keep the score tight within four. The Cougar defense forced three turnovers in a two-minute span before commanding a 6-0 run, not allowing a Towson basket for three minutes.

The Tigers responded with a 7-0 run of their own to take a 59-54 lead. The Cougars forced four straight misses before falling into a six-minute drought from the field while Towson pushed their lead to 74-61. The Cougars battled back but the Tigers offense was too much to overcome late.

- Rodgers scored a game and career-high 24 points. Burnham added 13 points and 8 rebounds.
- Brzovic was one board shy of his seventh career double-double with 12 points and 9 rebounds.
